With over 20 years of experience in international insurance markets and a strong background in risk assessment and operational aspects of commercial and contract bond placements, Clementina brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position. Q: Hello Clementina, and thank you for your time. Should we start by hearing a little about yourself and a brief overview of your professional background?

A: Certainly. I am a degreed business professional with a diverse background spanning over three decades in the insurance industry. My expertise lies in international insurance markets, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean, where I have cultivated relationships with over 40 insurance companies. I specialize in surety underwriting, risk assessment, and client relationship management, among other core competencies.

Q: Could you share some of your notable accomplishments throughout your career?

A: Absolutely. Over the years, I have successfully developed, consolidated, and managed relationships with a vast network of insurance companies in Latin America and the Caribbean, facilitating the issuance of bonds for various business accounts. Additionally, I have played a pivotal role in enhancing client satisfaction and company participation as a reinsurer, contributing to the expansion of international capabilities in surety bond placements. Furthermore, I had the honor of serving as an instructor for the Pan-American Surety Association (PASA), focusing on facultative reinsurance for international surety placements.

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in the insurance industry?

A: My passion for the insurance industry stems from its dynamic nature and the opportunity it provides to make a tangible impact on clients’ lives. As an attorney, I am fascinated by the legal intricacies of insurance contracts and the challenge of effectively communicating complex policies to clients. Moreover, I am deeply committed to upholding the values of integrity and accountability in serving clients’ needs.

Q: How do you envision your role at Fulcro Insurance contributing to the company’s growth?

A: My goal at Fulcro Insurance is to leverage my expertise and passion for serving diverse communities to drive growth and innovation in the surety bond market. As a Hispanic immigrant myself, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that our community faces, particularly in the realm of insurance. I am committed to fostering strong relationships with clients and brokers, providing tailored solutions to meet their specific needs, and advocating for greater inclusivity and accessibility within the insurance industry.

Q: Why Fulcro?

A: Fulcro represents an exciting opportunity for me to add value to the market in meaningful ways. When I first embarked on my journey after leaving my previous role, I obtained licenses as a property and casualty agent, but my focus remained steadfast on surety bonds.

Surety bonds are a credit-based business, where the quality of the insured’s credit is paramount, and establishing a program comes with complex characteristics. Within our Hispanic community, you’ll find many agents specializing in property and casualty insurance, but the percentage specializing in surety bonds is relatively low. I am part of that smaller percentage dedicated to this niche.

At Fulcro in Atlanta, there are agents with licenses like mine who specialize in areas I do not. This creates a perfect synergy where I can complement their expertise while they fulfill needs that I may not cover. Despite only being here a short time, I already see areas for development and opportunities to collaborate. This symbiotic relationship allows us to seize business opportunities seamlessly, ensuring growth for Fulcro as a Hispanic agency, opportunities for Hispanic clients seeking insurance solutions, and personal career advancement.
